We set out nice and early with coffees in hand on the long and perilous journey to the Excel centre in London for the 5oth Salute wargames convention.
After navigating our way through the windy roads of London we arrived at the Excel with just under an hour to spare before the doors opened.
So we headed through the underground carpark bumping into Ronnie from Mantic games on the way to the show floor.
As we headed to the que we were welcomed and handed a goody nag containing a programme, some flyers, this years Salute model, a die and a dice tray.
The que was short and we were let in dead on 10am.
The show floor seemed very spacious this year which was very welcome with plenty of space to walk around and see all of the stalls and displays without feeling crushed.
The painting competition had some spectacular entries this year.
There were some amazing tables set up for display and intro games.
One of the stand out tables was this massive historical table full of what i thought was 28mm miniatures but as i walked around the table I realized they were all paper cut outs.
I also have to point out Parabellums tables for Conquest they didn’t bring 1 intro, or 2 but table but 3 intro tables.
It was great to see so many hobby heroes walking around, i wish i had more photos to show you.
I have to mention bad squido that set up an fun little colouring in station.
It was a great day all round, the only small negative i have is….. Salute! please put some benches and seats in next year just so people can rest for 10 mins. Its a long day stand around on concrete.
