I wanted the chair to serve a purpose other than to sit on, so I designed it with a storage trunk in mind. 

I wanted it deep enough to store hobby stuff, tools, blankets, beer…… whatever I needed at the time.

I knew I wanted some ornate hinges to be a feature so i hunted around the internet and finally fund some that I liked.
